As Chief of The Presidential Close-in Photographers Office (PCPO), Mr. Carual is in charge of designating photographers in his office to cover the President’s Activities. He also supervises the release of photos taken during the coverage to different Media Organizations.
The photos taken by the PCPO are being released daily to all the National and Provincial-based publications throughout the country.

Aside from assigning photographers to do the coverage, He also sees to it that he personally covers the President’s Local and Foreign trips being her personal close-in photographer.
The President’s foreign trips had brought him to different parts of the world and others. These trips have given him a wide array of experience especially on how further enhances his job as a news photographer.
Prior to his appointment by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to his present post, Mr. Carual has also held various jobs, mostly as a member of the working press.
He was a distinguished photojournalist for seven years for The Manila Times having been assigned in various beats especially the Police beat. He also worked as a reporter of the defense radio DWAD.
Born on October 6, 1964 to his parents Aniceto and Benita, in Paete, Laguna. He took his elementary education at the Paete Central School and Highschool at Liceo de Paete.
After finishing his secondary education, he attended The Laguna School of Arts and Trades before taking his B.S. Industrial Electricity course at the Technological University of the Philippines.
Having a natural thirst for exploring the fields of knowledge, he did not hesitate in trying his hand in other areas earning him degrees in other fields.
